Trinity Shepherd – Inventory Supervisor

Joined Brandon Equine Medical Center in August of 2010

Trinity Shepherd has been around horses her whole life and can’t imagine her life without them, so joining the Brandon Equine team was a natural fit. She considers it a true honor to help alleviate the suffering of horses. One of those horses literally became her own–her pride and joy Captain, an off the track thoroughbred that despite having only one eye, she has successfully turned into a “western horse.” Besides Captain, Trinity owns Tater Tot, a miniature horse; BoCfus, a black Labrador; Molly, an heeler mix; and last but not least Rico, a chinchilla. This year Trinity will be returning to school to become a Certified Veterinary Technician. Until the, she enjoys riding, hunting and just hanging out with family and friends.

Mary Ann Zwirko – Technician Assistant & Client Care Coordinator

Joined Brandon Equine Medical Center in January of 2014

Mary Ann grew up in a small town in New Jersey just a few miles north of Princeton surrounded by horse farms. Her best friend’s farm was the meeting place to practice for gymkhanas, play bareback tag, and chase down escape artists because someone inevitably left the gate open. One particular summer was more serious. Words such as Coggins, EIA and quarantine where more than she understood, but she did understand the emotional meetings between the horse owners and their veterinarian. The fear was unmistakable. It was then that she began to understand the special nature of the bond between horses, their owners, and the veterinarians who care for them. She admired the veterinarian’s knowledge, dedication, and compassion and their ability to temper the fears of the owners, reassuring them that their beloved horses would be ok. Mary Ann recently retired from a rewarding teaching career and fulfilled a childhood dream by moving to Florida to enjoy the warm waters of the gulf. During a visit to Brandon Equine Medical Center, she was introduced to Dr. Kuebelbeck and Dr. Richter and saw that special bond once again. She wanted to become of part of it, so she became a technician. Mary Ann does not view being a technician as “work” but rather a privilege to play a role in what she considers an incredible and inspiring place to be; another childhood dream come true.
